I asked lots of questions and did some reading on my own and finally decided to go with the extended depth of focus IOLs. I was looking forward to no longer needing contact lenses after the surgery. It cost more but my vision now in both eyes is excellent. I think possibly even better than before. When driving distance focus is sharp and also the instrument cluster and all the dashboard controls are clear and sharp without glasses. I only use readers now for close up work like reading.
